Waking up before 10, let alone 11, hasn't always been my favorite thing to do! But ever since I have left Austin...9 am is the norm. Will I get used to it? Sure hope so! Back to the roadtrip...
As soon as we woke up (9:30ish), I departed Papa Brew's and headed to pick up LM. We already knew we wanted to break up the trip as much as possible and stop whenever we saw something interesting. Durant, Oklahoma--INTERESTING! Choctaw Casino...a little gambling? Even more interesting. We walk in and look for the perfect penny machine to spend a mere $20 and be on with our day. Well, I didn't have much luck. My $20 turned into $40 pretty quick...and my machine did not like me at all. As I take a look to my left, Lil' Mama is already up 70 bucks!! Um, okay...I'll stop and watch. Oh--and snap a quick photo. She ended up leaving with $120 bucks. Gambled $60 left with $120. Not too shabby. Time to hit the road!
As we continued, we saw the Peaches! Strawberries! Sweet Corn! Onions! One Mile Ahead! Yet again, interesting!!! Let me tell you what, we stocked up...and those peaches were absolutely to die for. How can you resist these?

Back on the road...and it's about lunch time. We were both craving Chinese...but also both saw a small town diner at the same time. Yah, we opted for that instead. Buffet of chicken-fried steak, mashers, spinach, green beans, stuffing...and homemade cherry cobbler! Considering I knew I had two more days of eating whatever my little heart desired...this place was perfect!!
After that, we had to get to Joplin, Missouri to see our two best friends. And made it there by about 5:30. Had a little queso at Casa Montez and Kinzi (my BFF) and Delisa (LM's BFF) came back to the hotel room to hang out for a little. We had plenty to giggle about. Ever heard of an application called FatBooth?? Perfect motivation to start my month long 'get healthy and fit' kick. Ha...this is Kinzi and I.
End of Day Two! Whew. Only one more leg of the trip left...and then home to Columbia. The next day started pretty much the same...a lot of caffeine and iced tea to fuel our many pit stops. The only place we HAD to check out was Lambert's restaurant. Home of the throwed rolls. Literally. We walked in and waited for 45 minutes. But SOOO worth it. Fried porkchops. Macaroni and Tomatoes. Fried Okra. Fresh hot rolls (which they throw to you). Sliced Beets. Cucumbers and Onions. My mouth is seriously watering just remembering and writing this. It was absolutely delicious.
After sufficiently stuffing ourselves....we were ready to get home! So we trucked forward and got home (Columbia) at about 5:30 last night. So definitely many adventures along the way to liven up the long haul...but felt good to have a bed to call my own. I unloading everything I had...and curled up early in bed to catch up on some television I had missed. Don't get me started on my shows...I'm sure there will be a post dedicated to just them...that will hopefully start some discussion. Today was the first day LM and I went back to work at Salsa Gardens...the home decor store LM owns and operates.
So, that wraps up the journey from Austin to Missouri. One month until the move to Kansas City. Time to job hunt, help redesign Salsa Gardens, and keep myself entertained. It is officially Lil' Mama and I together 24/7 until September 1st. Scary thought, huh?
Till next time,
Ambitiously Job-Searching.
